"Music is the cup that holds the wine of silence. Sound is that cup, but empty. Noise is that cup, but broken.”

Robert Fripp

Urpf Lanze

Urpf Lanze is the moniker of his rather unorthodox solo guitar project, under which he has been playing for several years now. He plays strange music with acoustic guitar and his rough voice, evocating the harsh of Bill Orcutt
The person behind Urpf Lanze is Belgian visual artist Wouter Vanhaelemeesch, who is mainly known for his large-scale ink drawings that offer a hermetic blend of weirdo characters, medieval iconography and surrealist decors.

“Blues rugueux, crapuleux et rageur à la croisée de Bill Orcutt, Son House, Robert Johnson et cie.”

Fragmentaire

On the invitation of the artists' international research collective OuUnPo  & the "Fondazione Orestiadi", "Fragmentaire" was performed in the magical "Giardino Segreto 2", in the city of Gibellina (Sicila), designed by Francesco Venezia.

Between two pieces of Daniele Spoerri and Mimo Rotella, a live performance by Eve Couturier (voice) and Palix (music), last 17th of May, for the sunset.

With fragments of the libretto "Woyzeck" by Georg Büchner.

Bobbyland

"Bobbyland" est un orchestre  d’automates dont tous les instruments sont joués par des moteurs et programmés informatiquement. Utilisant des instruments classiques (pianos, contrebasse, percussions,…) déjoués par des imprimantes, lecteurs de disquettes ou moteur d’essuie-glace, le dispositif créé plonge l’auditeur dans des sonorités inattendues. Musique électronique certainement, mais purement acoustique, et qui ne renie pas  l’héritage de la musique concrète.

Harsh & thrash

Glenn Branca, iconic figure of the avant-garde No Wave's scene in New-York,
started with the band "Theoritical Girls" in 1977.
In 1980, he composed several medium-length compositions for electric guitar ensembles,
including "Lesson N°1", "The Ascension" & "Indeterminate activity of resultant masses"

"Glenn Branca's fire-breathing music is a turbulently successful mix of sonic pioneering and experimental melodics with rock-solid, butt-kicking guitar thrash..."
Tristram Lozaw for BOSTON ROCK
